Say hello to this new guy! Believe it or not he's actually inspired by a piece of mid-century pottery I saw which is where his interesting body shape and proportions come from.

Oooh fancy that, Mr Cat!
Do you remember 'Moon Cat' from the 1980's? Well this is his more adventurous older cousin 'Space Cat' from the 1960's. He was inspired by a little german mid century ceramic cat bought at an antiques store. The pattern on his body is a recreation of the original atomic motif.

This is an illustration I've been working on for Zizzi's 2013 menu competition. The theme was 'Individually Italian' so my idea was to have a little bowl of gelato with a tiny Italian town as its whimsical topping!
